Cubtile

The world's first 3D multi-touch device

The Cubtile is the world's first multitouch 3D immersive device; it helps intuitively manipulate 3D content using multi-touch 3D technology. The Cubtile uses an exclusive multi-touch 3D technology which allows for the device to be capable of navigating a 3D environment, in order to grasp a better view of the images. It supports the translation, rotation and scale operations of the property and provides a magnified and more specific look at 3D rotations. The Cubtile’s applications are virtually unlimited.

Cubtile, the first multitouch 3D device

Cubtile™ is a cube that allows, due to its multitouch 3D tactile technology, intuitive manipulation of 3 dimension objects displayed on a screen.  Cubtile applications are unlimited and provide new methods of interaction and visualization.

Based on the iliGHT tactile technology and applied to the cultural field for our research project CARE, Cubtile is a revolutionary innovation: it is the first multitouch 3D device in the wolrd!

Destined to any line of business working with 3D, Cubtile allows, when slightly touched, the rotation of a 3D virtual object.  Undeniable asset: its intuitiveness makes it suitable to any kind of user.

Touch your 3D applications

Thanks to is multi-touch 3D tactile technology, the Cubtile™ helps intuitively manipulating 3D content and navigating in virtuals environments. The Cubtile™ applications are unlimited, since it provides so many interaction possibilities. Presented to the whole scientific community in October 2008, at the prestigious international conference ACM VRST, and revealed to the professionals and the general public at Imagina last February, the Cubtile™, which is the world first multi-touch 3D device, offers new interaction techniques and a new support for advanced display technologies. As such, it was rewarded by an Award at Laval Virtual in April 2009.

At first, a project...

Based on Immersion's iliGHT tactile technology, and applied to the cultural domain within the research project CARE (co-financed by ANR), Cubtile™ is a revolutionary innovation which is the result of the latest researches in tactile technologies and motion recognition.
Cubtile™ has been created by Immersion (Bordeaux). Immersion's R&D department, composed by a team of research workers and expert engineers, ensures technology watch and produces new hardware solutions for interaction and visualization in virtual environments. These solutions include the iliGHT interactive table and the Cubtile™ tactile systems. The team is also involved into European scale research projects on virtual reality, new multimodal interaction techniques and visualization methods.
